Jakarta, SEAJori – President Prabowo Subianto officially inaugurated General Suyudi Ario Seto as the new Chief of the Indonesian National Police (Kapolri) succeeding Gen.Listyo Sigit Prabowo on Thursday (1/10/2026).

In the same ceremony, President also sworn in Comr. Gen. Wahyu Hadiningrat as the Deputy Police Chief (Wakapolri), replacing Comr. Gen. Dedi Prasetyo.

The ceremony commenced with the national anthem, “Indonesia Raya,” followed by the reading of Presidential Decrees No. 96-97/Polri/2026 regarding the honorable discharge and appointment of the Police Chief and Deputy Police Chief. The decree extended formal gratitude to Listyo Sigit and Dedi Prasetyo for their service to the nation.

Prabowo personally guided Suyudi and Wahyu as they recited their oaths of office. Following the oath, Prabowo replaced Suyudi’s three-star rank insignia with four stars, officially promoting him to Police General. Wahyu retains his rank of Commissioner General in his new role as Deputy Police Chief.

The proceedings concluded with both newly appointed leaders signing the inauguration minutes, which were subsequently signed by Prabowo, who extended his official congratulations.

Suyudi previously served as the Head of the National Narcotics Agency (BNN) and secured approval from the House of Representatives (DPR RI) during a plenary session earlier Thursday morning. While Wahyu served as the Chief Assistant to the Police Chief for General Planning and Budgeting (Astamarena).

Following the leadership transition, ex-Police Chief Listyo Sigit Prabowo assumes a new role as the Chief of the Presidential Staff (KSP), replacing retired Gen. Dudung Abdurachman. (*)
